Hi Thad: Recently received an e-mail from Graham Dobson looking x-ray equipment for the New Zealand Chiro. College. Do you still have this x-ray bucky & chair available? They wanted to raise funds to buy it and if you can give me an idea of what you would like I will work on getting that together for them. It’s important for the kids at the school to be able to take BP’s. Right now they are limited.

      Thanks,
      Dan

        Hi, Dan

I have both a set of the Odessa machine shop Blair clamps and a 2 foot square outside dimension bucky, probably 19×19 grid. I am now using a laser line generator for alignment, no clamps, and the image intensifier instead of bucky/film.
I’m not sure what a fair price is, and really can’t afford to donate them. I’m sure we can work something out.

      Also, need Blair head clamps.
      Thanks,
      Dan

        Hi Doc,
I sent you an email. Is the table still operational?
        Dennis

      • 45 Alan Fox, D.C. October 7, 2011 at 4:10 pm

Yes it is an Advanced Orthogonal Table Special note this table is Stan Pierce D.C. Senior design. It is not mechanical like Dr. Sweats it is set up on a “sonic” solenoid force of 3.5 lbs ( I purchased it from Dr. Pierce Sr in St Petersburg..I paid $ 12,500.00 plus shipping to Idaho which was $ 1300.00 as it required a detailed crating etc) so I have $ 13, 800 in the table)

I am not sure if I really can afford to sell it but have been moving into Blair work and Orthospinology more so I not using it as much. I am wondering what I can realistically get. I do know that they are back ordered when purchasing from Dr Pierce but just seeing what might come up from an interested UC AO doc.

Let me know your thoughts.. the table is at my Boise office.

        Alan Fox, D.C.

        Hi Alan
        What is a “sonic” solenoid?
Dr. Sweat’s table has a tiny hammer striking a tiny anvil that is the stylous.
What is the sonic solenoid doing? Just asking??

      • 47 Alan Fox, D.C. October 7, 2011 at 5:11 pm

Here is info from Advanced Orthogonal Equip, Inc.
        Percussion Adjusting Insturment FDA-634939
Designed by Advanced Systems and Impact Precision Engineers
        Ph 1-727-528-8700

This new Adj Instrument has combined the best qualities of our previous instrument plus re enginered improvements. The table features a motorized 4 directional shoulder section allowing for refined positioing of the pt shoulder.
Z vecto easily and accuratel set through a digital inclinometer. Vertical drive now foot pedal controlled allwoing both hands to algin the stylus/transverse lead.
        Handicapped modifications for tax credit

So seems they use a solenoid to strike a sound board which imparts the force. That is how they explained it.
